Let’s talk

Research and development

One project a year, since 2017.

Not a brochure boast: a line you can verify. Every year one real research project, with grant calls, reviewers, timesheets and audited reporting. Not all of them become a product — the ones that don’t teach us where not to go. And we didn’t get to AI in 2023: computer vision applied to manual work, here, dates from 2021.

  1. 2017

    eAutomation

Software for running industrial plants: the eAutomation application drives an electronic board with proprietary firmware. The company’s first research exercise.

  2. 2018

    JamesLog

Collecting, standardising and analysing logs from different devices in a single database: from the client in the field to the analysis console.

  3. 2019

    RobinHUD

Indoor navigation in augmented reality: spatial anchors in the cloud and a prototype Android app built in Unity, to guide a person through a building where GPS can’t reach.

  4. 2020

    WSM4.0 — Welding System Monitoring

Prototype high-speed monitoring and data-acquisition system for industrial welding processes, in a consortium with industrial and university partners.

  5. 2021

    WAIP — AI Powered WorkBench

A workbench that projects instructions onto the surface and recognises the position of the operator’s hands: it guides assembly and measures times and progress. Computer vision on a stereo camera, working prototype.

  6. 2022

    CoSoX — Collettore Solare X

More yield from the same photovoltaic panels, by enclosing them in a collector with mirrored surfaces. The CoSimX simulator written from scratch, 3D-printed scale prototypes, validation measurements in the lab.

  7. 2023

    Toward the consortium

Not a project of its own: the year of designing and submitting the environmental project under the regional call, in a business consortium. It’s the bridge between CoSoX and Smart and Safe Air, and it’s told on the latter’s page.

  8. 2024– 2026

    Smart and Safe Air

An integrated information system for environmental assessment and climate and health risk management, for public bodies and insurers. PR FESR Toscana 2021-2027, Call 2, in a business consortium. Closed with its objectives fully achieved.
